I'm not a canoeist. But, today my friends encouraged me to 'run the rapids' (okay, this is Iowa it wasn't exactly the Snake River) - it was fun!! I will always be a seakayaker, but a little solo canoe might be interesting.....:)
It was a beautiful day on the Skunk River.

OK, being in Ames, I'm familiar with the Ledges and nearby rivers. Isn't this a nice overlooked gem?
Yes, the spring flowers and green hills are lovely.
But, come August we'll have to pull our kayaks down this little 'gem'. :)
